About The St. Vincent de Paul Society
The society of St. Vincent de Paul is the largest lay charity organization in the world.
In 1833, Frederic Ozanam, on his 20th birthday, along with his companions, founded the Society of St. Vincent de Paul.
The motto of the society is:
"No Work of Charity is foreign to the Society"

About The Walk for the Poor
The Walk for the Poor began in 2008. Since 2008, The Southern Maryland District has raised over $36,000 from the walk.
All money raised is used locally in direct service for people in need. This years walk will be held September 18th 2010,
in historic Leonardtown MD.
The St. Vincent de Paul Society assists people in need with food, utilities, rent, mortgage assistance, and medicine.
